Silicone edge graphics (also known as SEG) are another print product offered by the expert team at SCG. We produce high-resolution dye-sublimation fabric graphics with a thin silicone strip sewn directly to the edges of the print, hence the name ‘silicone edge’. These strips are then inserted into aluminum frames with recessed grooves, creating a frameless graphic display featuring perfect, taut, wall-like tension that can be used to create freestanding displays. They’re also light enough and simple enough to suspend from a ceiling or mount on a wall without issue. The quality of the SEG fabric means that they can be backlit, and this in combination with the ease of setup and takedown means that they are in favor at trade shows, as well as in retail spaces, events, even homes.
SEG Fabric Printing & Frames
SEG fabric frames are typically made of aluminum. These frames (also called extrusions) can be fabricated to fit multiple purposes.
- Anodized aluminum: If you are going to be using this frame often, or in unusual weather conditions, anodized aluminum can be beneficial. Aluminum that has been treated this way is more wear-resistant and durable.
- Light box: Frames that are going to be set up at trade shows or retail environments may benefit from backlighting, to make them stand out more. These frames are necessarily larger and heavier than other choices, which is important to bear in mind for wall-mounted and suspended choices.
- Coloring: In order to better fit with a brand’s image, or a room’s decor, a frame can be colored to suit the client’s needs.
- Double-sided: For free-standing or suspended frames, double-siding graphics can save on money and also shipping/transportation costs.
- Lightweight frames: If you are buying in bulk or you only intend to wall mount your SEG frames, lightweight frames can be an effective option. These frames aren’t suitable for free-standing displays, but are considerably lighter and more slender than other options.
